Green Leaf Kitchen is seeking an experienced energetic, motivated, and reliable assistant manager for a small bakery and cafe. Must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess a high standard for product and customer service.

Location: Downtown Longwood, FL

No nights or weekends

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour

Full-Time: 30-36 hrs per week.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Must be available to work 9 am- 5:30 pm Wed-Saturday.

  • Assists Owner in supervising, scheduling, and training of employees.

  • Assumes responsibility in absence of the Owner.

  • Operates a variety of specialized foodservice equipment, i.e. blenders, dicers, spinners, grill, ovens, stove, etc.

  • Prepares simple dishes such as salads, wraps, etc.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly kitchen and cafe

  • Assists in compliance with Health Department regulations.

  • Knowledge of proper food handling procedures. Food Handler's Certificate required.

  • Able to stand and prepare in a fast-paced kitchen for an entire shift.

  • Must be able to read and follow recipes to completion.

  • Prepares ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.

  • Undertake cooking duties such as preparing soups, parboiling food, etc.

  • Ensures all food and other items are stored properly.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience as a prep/line/kitchen assistant

  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen

  • Able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils

  • A team player with good communication skills

  • Must be able to lift equipment/food up to 30 pounds, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, reach, twist, sit, and/or walk.

 

Requirements

  • Restaurant Experience: 2 year

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License

  • Active Food Handler’s Certificate required

  • Food Safety Manager’s Certificate preferred

 

Extra sanitation cleaning procedures are in place, along with social distancing of unvaccinated customers, and all unvaccinated team members are required to be vaccinated within two weeks of the start date.
